a few days ago i just drove into the parking lot and looked around- the brothers were outside, just getting their service groups together for the morning's field circus.

i noticed a stack of nice office chairs with armrests and the sign, "free" next to them.

i have been looking around here for a while but this is my first post.

my wife and i have been fading not so smoothly.

i pretty much know this is not the truth but am still undecided how i feel on various issues and i am still sorting them out.

Great advise from Wac and Moshe. I am in a similar situation and by not talking to family members about my opinions have been able to distance myself for many years now.

I have told a few zealous ones that, " there are some things I don't understand fully , however I have faith that Jehovah will show me the way, through personal study and prayer. But for now I choose not to voice my doubts as I do not want to be a cause for stumbling.

P.s. and I am still trying to figure it out.

prayer.. billions of people have been praying for hundreds of years for peace.

other billions pray for happiness for mankind.

not one evidence exists that he hears or that he cares.. can anyone provide solid evidence that god answers prayers.

I'll bite

I was contemplating breaking up with my wordly boyfriend for the sake of being a witness.We had been fighting about Christmas and how negative the society was. (he felt that they spent more time putting down other religions than promoting love) I was so confused as to whether or not I should make this sacrifice to "jehovah" or not.

So I prayed for one whole evening. I asked that if this is the true religion I would receive the help I needed from the brothers to come back into the fold and solidify my faith. I wanted god to give me a clear sign that I should break up with him in favor of the congregation.

The next morning I went to the meeting with my parents. I hadn't gone in a long time. The public talk was about how Christendom was evil and all the bad things they do . The watchtower was equally as depressing I can't remember what it was on. I just remember thinking during the meeting that it was all a downer. I was left feeling empty. To top it off I was shunned by nearly everyone at the meeting. Well on the way home my mother told me that you have to follow your heart even if others oppose your decisions. ( this was not her normal opinion)

When I got home there was a bouquet of flowers from my boyfriend. That evening he told me that he would let me raise our children any way I wanted and he would become a witness if I needed that. He also proposed that night.

Needless to say for me I feel that I got a clear answer. The religion was dead for me and I think god showed me the worst side of it that day. And he showed me that I could be happy with my now husband of 10 years. That was my turning point.

Yes I think you can get an answer. I really thought I was going to that meeting and was going to get love bombed and feel zealous or something.

But I was shown the better direction.

is there a way of saying tactfully to my superdub family that we do not want anniversary presents this year ?.

our 39th is on saturday the 12th and my wife says that as the family only have the minimum to do with us since our fade she feels it is the height of hypocrisy to buy us presents.. she also does not like my super-smug sister (who does ?

) who will come to our place bearing gifts we do not want from persons who will not entertain our point of view.. i cannot think of away that is kind, to get out of this, heeelllpppppp !!!!!!!!!!.

remember reading at the book study once, think it was the evolution book, and miss read organism as orgasm.

it all went quiet nobody said anything and all continued.my future wife was there and her mother which made it worse, i even mis read it again in the next paragraph.i felt terrible and coulnt look up.laugh about it now of course..

the dec. 2009 awake asks the question, what kind of star led the "wise men" to jesus?

it concludes that the "star was from an evil source, most likely satan the devil" ( pg 11).

i see the logic , yes....... since herod wanted to kill jesus, a great personage of pure evil must be behind the 'star'.
